More about us
Volunteer Centre Croydon is a department of Croydon Voluntary Action and our mission is to promote more and better volunteering in Croydon. We have continuously evolved ever since our creation 50 years ago, working hard as a small team of five staff and ten volunteers.
Volunteering changes lives and transforms communities and allows people to get together and make things possible. Young people who need experience before getting into paid work build their confidence easier through volunteering, simply because it allows them to evolve while doing something they like or are interested in. Some elderly find volunteering rewarding because it allows them to share their skills with others and be useful to their community, help make it a better place. |
We want to make becoming a volunteer as easy as possible for everyone, no matter who they are, what their background or where they come from. Thousands of people volunteer in Croydon every year and we want to increase this number and ensure they have the best possible experience by helping organisations to provide the best and safest experience for their volunteers.

Do something fun and bring the festive season into Croydon's heart! Through our amazing team of volunteers, we have developed and provide a wide range of services that allow people to get involved in their community.
Christmas Gift Wrap was initiated as a fundraising event, which allows Volunteer Centre Croydon to cover part of its running costs and continue its work in the third sector. All this while allowing volunteers to do something fun and help Croydon prepare for the festive season! Some of our volunteers are quite professional when it comes to wrapping gifts, others are happy to learn on the spot however they all have one thing in common: they love Christmas and they want to be part of it! |
